Dangal actress Zaira Wasim faced a major accident at the Dal Lake in Kashmir on Thursday. The car in which Zaira Wasim was travelling went out of the driver’s control on the Boulevard Road and fell into the Dal Lake. The incident took place at around 9 pm.She was miraculously rescued by locals here after her car fell into the Dal Lake. She was travelling with her friend when the accident took place.
“Locals immediately rescued her and her companion. She escaped unhurt, but her companion sustained injuries in the accident,” a local told IANS. “Both of them survived but her friend suffered several injuries,” another local, who identified himself as Mudasir Bashir, told The Tribune.
Zaira Wasim played the role of younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat in Dangal (2016), which was a biographical feature on Haryana wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Zaira Wasim’s excellent performance in film fetched her National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. “It is very encouraging to receive an award of this stature in my debut film, the appreciation has only got me more excited to work harder,” she said after winning the award.
