The Grevin Wax Museum in Paris initiated something really good for Ranveer Singh on his birthday (that was yesterday) that unfortunately culminated in a horrible output for the actor. The minute they unveiled the actor’s wax statue, everyone was awestruck and — may we break your hearts — not for the right reasons.
What was meant to be a birthday gift — as he is the third Bollywood actor who was being obliged by such a wonderful gesture — turned out to be a mess. The wax statue of Ranveer Singh looked nothing like him. He’s a man so full of life – and his statue was completely opposite – LIFELESS.
Droopy eyelids, not to forget the bags under them, a highly unflattering nose, disturbingly visible laughter lines, diminishing eyebrows – Ranveer’s statue looked like a much, much older version of him from a close up. And we ain’t talking of how it looked from the front. Take a look at this piece of wax from different angles and decide what you think of it.
The minute the pics of his wax self were out on social media, it was raining comments over how horrible it looks and why did the makers created a mess out of it?
Some seriously taken aback fans lamented that no hardwork can be seen on the statue, and how they were expecting a much better result, others made no bones laughing at it.
So different it looks from the star itself, that many were seen laughing over it saying that his wax statue looks more like either Shiamak Davar, Akshay Kumar or it is a hybrid between Sriram Nene and Ray Romano. Now, the thing is that so far Ranveer Singh himself has not commented on this statue. The actor was busy celebrating his birthday in Mumbai, and has also been away from social media since a couple of days.
Come to think of it — whatever it is, a wax statue being made in Paris also indicates the breadth of one’s fame and also symbolises the fact that he is now an internationally acknowledged ‘star’. So, we’re taking it positively that way.
P.S. Hope Madame Tussauds does a better job when they attempt one! *Fingers crossed*
