Seems like Bollywood is lacking the Big O (no, not orgasm), but O for Originality. Recently, Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming film ‘A Gentleman’ had its first look and poster released. And we were not surprised at all. That is because in a single glimpse, Sidharth’s body language and the style of holding a gun – had an uncanny resemblance with Pierce Brosnan in the Bond film ‘Die Another Day’. But, as the current Bollywood trend goes — one Hindi movie is equal to a cocktail of multiple Hollywood films. Here’s how.
To begin with, it’s not just the poster or the first look or the teaser. If the reports are anything to go by, ‘A Gentleman’ has a script which is a spin off of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bang Bang’, that released in 2014. Bang Bang itself was an official Hindi remake of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz’s ‘Knight and Day’. And some scenes of Sidharth and Jacqueline’s ‘A Gentleman’ reminds us of that film too.
So, what’s up with our Hindi film industry? We reportedly make more films than any other film industry. We sing and dance in our films – again like no one else does. We boast of the Khans and the actresses who are shining bright overseas too. Then why can’t we have o.r.i.g.i.n.a.l s.c.r.i.p.t.s? For this is not the first time a hindi film is a rip off from it’s English counterparts.
And recently, we told you how Salman Khan’s upcoming film Tubelight has been based on Hollywood film ‘A Little Boy’?
