Director Vikram Bhatt recently opened up about his much-hyped affair with bollywood actress Sushmita Sen. Sushmita Sen became the first Indian female to bag the prestigious Miss Universe crown on the 21st of May, 1994. Been over 23 years now, the 41-year-old has continued her days of glory. In a recent interview with a leading publication, Vikram Bhatt spoke about lot of things like never before. Vikram Bhatt worked with Sushmita Sen when he wrote Dastak, which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
In the interview, Bhatt is quoted saying, “That was not because of Sushmita. That was because of what I’d done to my life. I had gotten divorced, my film Ghulam was yet to be released, I was only Sushmita Sen’s boyfriend, I was depressed, I missed my daughter like crazy…I had just made a mess of my life,” The director admits that he regrets hurting his wife and abandoning them. He says, “I regret the pain I caused them. I always believe that when you’re not courageous, you become cunning. I did not have the courage to tell Aditi how I felt. And it was all happening together, it was a big mess,” Vikram Bhatt, who, then, did not have the courage to tell his wife Aditi as to how he felt, revealed that when he I looked back in hindsight, it was all about growing up and the lessons which life teaches the human beings.
Vikram Bhatt’s life was never about the alleged presence of Sushmita Sen alone. There was also Ameesha Patel’s name which was always attached to his. To this, Vikram Bhatt said that, his book ‘A Handful of Sunshine’ spoke nothing about Sushmita or Ameesha.
