All was well in Sanjay Dutt’s life. After 23 years, the actor walked free in February 2016. The actor couldn’t be more happier to breathe in fresh air after having spent his remaining tenure in Pune’s Yerwada Jail. But now, around one year later, the actor may be dragged to court again in regard to his jail term.

Ever since the Munnabhai stepped his foot outside the jail on February 25, 2016 — fans, friends and family were deeply elated. But critics were questioning the law. “So, he’s been out on parole so many times and now, his jail tenure has also been shortened?” “Howcome he’s walking free a month earlier?” “What good conduct was it that he was rewarded with freedom so early?” A few months later though, those questions died, and Sanjay was back to his life as well as work. He even began shooting for his committed projects.

But now, Sanjay Dutt’s worst nightmare has come out to be true. As per reports, the Bombay High Court has begun to question the Maharashtra Government’s decision of early release of the actor from his jail term.As per a report in HT, “A bench of judges including Justice RM Savant and Justice Sadhana Jadhav has asked the state government to file an affidavit. They want the government to state the parameters considered and the procedure that was followed before releasing the actor from jail.”

Justice Sawant has also been quoted by the daily asking these questions –
‘Was the deputy inspector general of police (prisons) consulted or did the jail superintendent directly send his recommendation to the governor?’
‘How did the authorities assess that Dutt’s conduct was good? When did they get the time to make such an assessment when he was out on parole half the time?’

This was following the hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), which was filed in order to inquire about the reason of the early release of Dutt. Now, whether this PIL is not paid much attention to or will it bring about ANOTHER TWIST IN DUTT’S LIFE — only time will tell.
