Raabta Box Office Collection Day 1 : Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer movie opened on an average note. The film was released on 1820 screens in India and on 330 screens in the overseas market. Raabta is the story of Shiv (Sushant) and Saira (Kriti), who realise that they have some inexplicable ‘raabta’ (the Urdu word for connection) with each other. The film has received mixed reviews, with critics generally praising the performances of Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh, but criticising the weak story.
Raabta collected Rs 5.61 crore on the first day. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, “#Raabta Fri ₹ 5.61 cr. India biz.” And though we expected it to see a growth in the evening shows, it could not cross even the 20 per cent occupancy mark by the evening shows. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput while promoting for Raabta, spoke about his work and career.
While Sushant and Kriti have delivered good performances, the poor story line dented the film’s chances of being a hit at the box office. The critics as well as the audience gave the movie poor reviews and with no word of mouth publicity.
Another release this weekend – Behen Hogi Teri starring Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan saw 5-10% occupancy rates during morning shows.
