As we look forward to the festival of lights, two of Bollywood’s most awaited films (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay) are all set to release in theatres. As far as we have heard, both the movies have great storyline, concept and are star studded at the same time so who is going to do a better job at the box office could be a little hard to explain. Thankfully there are a few experts who have gauged the matter carefully and have given us a verdict on who can score better during the weekend. Scroll down for more.
Akshaye Rathi who happens to be an exhibitor distributor has said
“Both should open in the range of 12-15 cr each. The opening weekend if we don’t include Monday, could be a total of 100 crore. Honestly the two days before Diwali are not supposed to be good for business at all. Even on the Diwali day, people get busy in the evening. No one goes to watch movies. So the first three days are not great days for business. The day after Diwali is when the hurricane strikes at the box office. So to expect great numbers on the first three days is not practical.”
When it comes to talking about the opening day, Amul Mohan has mentioned that Friday being a non holiday, the film can earn 25 crores approx. But since it is Diwali, the kids are going to watch the film so you can expect more than 30 crores. There will surely be a racet between the two. If it is a 25 crore that we are looking at, then it should be 12.5 crore for day one. In short, the movie is actually expected to learn approximately 100 crores during the weekend.
Now how much of it is actually true can only be understood once the films have been released.
