Salman Khan’s Tubelight hit day 11 at Box Office with an average note and manage hard to reach 150 Cr benchmark. Set in the backdrop of 1962 Indo-China war, Tubelight took home Rs 3.75 crore on Monday and reached total Rs 123.61 crore. Kabir Khan directorial collected Rs 2 crore, Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 3 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with no addition. However, Tubelight was expected as the second blockbuster of this year as Salman Khan’s films always work wonder at Box Office, thus, Tubelight’s falling account disappoints many distributors in India.
Meanwhile, when Salman Khan was recently asked about the film’s bad reviews, the actor sportingly replied,” The critics were like really good. I was expecting minus 3 and minus 4 and they gave me 1 and 2, apparently. So, I am very pleased with that.” Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, who was planned to visit India, cancelled her trip due to Tubelight’s bad performance.
Talking about the overseas collections, Tubelight has been released on 1200 screens in the overseas market, in which, through Australia box office the film got 2,744 USD [Rs. 1.77 lacs] from 20 screens and with the New Zealand box office, 1,714 USD [Rs. 1.11 lacs] from 14 screens. Unlike the huge success of Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Fans and Critics are in no mood for accepting ‘Never Seen Before’ avatar of Salman Khan in Tubelight. Consequently, Salman Khan should be in his regular form and come up with the more action-based films.
