Exclusive: Jadoo Ki Jhappi: Ramiya Vastavaiya Song Review

Jadoo ki Jhappi is a hip shaking (literally! Remember the dance step you have recently seen on television?) number from the upcoming film Ramiya Vastavaiya. The song is set against a yellow ‘sarson ka khet’ with Jacqueline Fernandes shaking her booty. The fair dame is looking quite the desi item girl in a ghagras choli complete with a round black bindi and chunky jewellery.

Choreographed by the Prabhudeva, who is also the director of the film, Jacqueline effortlessly gives all the latkas and jhatkas. The whacky Prabhudeva signature steps and expressions look good on the girl; she is a good dancer to pull these off.

What makes this song a little extra spicy and special, is that Prabhudeva himself makes an appearance in it. The dance God does showcase his crazy footwork famous since his ‘mukkala mukaabla’ days.

Debutant Girish Kumar, the hero of the film dancing along with his unconventional looks and a bush on his head, looks mmm… ok I guess. He looks like a lost lamb trying to catch up, with Prabhudeva and Jacqueline dancing perfectly on both sides.

The song has the look and feel of a complete Bollywood masalas item song with crude expressions and ‘tang’ choli for the item girl and the backup dancers. The white clothes backup dancers set off Jacqueline beautifully.

The rhythmic lyrics have been written by Panchal and Sachin-Jigar are the music director duo behind the foot tapping number. Neha Kakkar and Mika have given their voice to the song.
