Popular film maker and artist who charmed us with his remarkable films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho Na Ho, Karan Johar recently got himself into a soup after Kangana Ranaut called him the flag bearer of nepotism. Although the actor was denying such accusations all this while, we have suddenly come across a video where is literally admitting to his mistake. Scroll down to watch the full video.
While attending an interview, Karan goes on to say “I picked up a chubby girl and I felt something. Maybe the fact that she was Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter also excited me. I don’t know. Right now I may say no but maybe that has been a very strong sub-layer. And that is nepotism and we are guilty and I am guilty. I am definitely guilty. Would I have cast Varun Dhawan if he wasn’t David Dhawan’s son? Because he was David Dhawan’s son he was on my set as an AD and that’s where I could spend enough time with him to know that he can be a movie star. So as I said, it has a lot to do with the fact that there are too many factors in this country that determine movie stardom and I think true talent is the least of them. It is very sad and truly tragic. Would I have been a filmmaker? I am a producer’s son. I had no experience, I was an assistant on one film, my father had the platform to give me and therefore I am a filmmaker. If I go through any struggle in my career then I deserve it”

It is actually very surprising to see Karan say all this because he’s been calling Kangana the woman whose playing the victim card all the time. And in the video above you could tell how well aware he is of what he has done. This one was however taken back in 2014 when Karan attended an interview with Anupama Chopra.
Karan Johar is well known for helping celebrity kids make their way into the industry. He indeed is a very helpful man. As far as we have heard, he is also going to help Sara Ali Khan Pataudi launch her acting career in Bollywood!
