She comments on it saying, “It feels good when it does well at the box office and when you have a certain amount of critical appreciation”. In a recent event, Zoya Akhtar was asked about the thought process she goes through while she works for the film and she gave a very wise reply which was appreciated by all. She said one has to do something that they believe in with utter honesty and truthfulness. She said after that whatever may happen happens for the best only. Both Gully Boy and Made in Heaven paid off well for Zoya Akhtar. Both have very dynamic thoughts that have been put by Zoya Akhtar. Gully Boy narrates the story of a slum boy who wishes to be a rap artist whereas Made in Heaven shows us different shades of the rich Indians during wedding setup. Zoya Akhtar really proved herself as a great storyteller by putting such two different faces of both segments of the society.
