Raanjhanaa First Monday Collection: Box Office India

Raanjhanaa First Monday Collection: Box Office India

Raanjhanaa has been a surprise package this weekend. With raving reviews from critics and audiences, more moviegoers are lining up to buy a ticket for this film. Starring Sonam Kapoor and South star Dhanush making his debut, the film is a tale of first love, heartache, pain, politics, life and redemption. Set in Banaras, the story revolves around Kundan, played by Dhanush, who has been in love with Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) from childhood. Once grownup Zoya forgets her first love and now is in love with Akram (Abhay Deol), the student leader and activist from JNU where she studies. Once back in Banaras she asks Kundan’s help to unite her with her love, not knowing that she has shattered the small town lad’s heart. From here begins a journey that moves through the rough roads of society, politics and tough lanes of love.

Raanjhanaa made a good start this weekend with a gross collection of 19.9crore. Monday saw a little dip with a collection of 3.85crore. Considering it’s a beginning of a weekend and rains playing havoc around the country, it did pretty well. Raanjhanaa will easily cross 35-36crore in its first week.
