Rating: 2.5/5 (Two & A Half Stars)

Baat Bann Gayi by Shuja Ali is a below average comedy movie. Movie starts with much promise and ends with a big disappointment. Baat Bann Gayi’s script has as many holes as a movie can hold. Though decent acting by Gulshan,  Ali, Anisa and Amrita  won’t be able to save it at the box office. Movie has many comedy characters but in most places it doesn’t gives you a comic feel at all.

The plot is really confusing and revolves around rachna’s wedding. Gulshan Grover and Ali Fazal have double roles and towards the end another double role appears not so shockingly.

Baat Bann Gayi’s strongest point is its star cast. All four lead characters know how to act. Ali’s performance is most watchable, Gulshan Grover and Amrita looks decent onscreen. Anisa has a very limited presence in the movie but she looks stunning and shows potential. Though abc as comedian is not worth a mention, his repetitive acts are outdated and no one prefers to watch him time and again with the same boring lines and acts.

Movie’s script has nothing new to show. Same old boring tricks and acts. How many times can we afford to laugh on the same old lame jokes?! First half of the movie shows some promise but confusing second half is all messed up. With this good star cast movie could have been much better. If only Shuja Ali has chosen a better script and used his team in a better way. Another drawback for Baat Bann Gayi was its low publicity, after Besharam’s failure last week, this movie had a much better chance at Indian box office. With  one more comedy movie this Friday as competition and with very low screen count, Baat Banni thodi mushkil hai.

If you can watch a movie with good performance but bad execution, you can watch #BaatBannGayi once and forget all about it.
