Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2 would be hitting the screens next year but the shooting has already begun. It was earlier revealed that the cast includes Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. Sadak 2 is the sequel of the 1991 film ‘Sadak’ that features Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. With Sadak 2, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has returned to direction in movies after a really long time. With time, several other things have been revealed that included Gulshan Grover to be a part of the sequel while Makarand Despande will act as a baddie in the movie.
Talking about the multi-starrer movie, the filmmaker had earlier told Mumbai Mirror, “Sadak 2 is about love, loss and redemption. To simplify a heartfelt narrative like this is to falsify it. You would be trivialising the essence of the film by suggesting that Sadak 2 is just this.”
The Sadak 2 cast was incomplete with 4 actors. Thus, three new casts have been included in the team aboard. The new casts that have been included are the most talented ones. The first and the foremost is Jisshu Sengupta. Jisshu is basically an eminent Tollywood actor who was last spotted in “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” and now he will be a part of Sadak 2. A reliable source has stated that the filmmaker thinks that he would do justice to the film. Apart from Mankarnika, Jisshu was seen in Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer Piku, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero, Barfi and Mardaani.
Apart from Jisshu Sengupta, Akshay Anand which is a popular face from the television and films has stepped in Sadak 2. Not unknown to people, the actor has successfully served the Bollywood industry for over three decades. His career included films like Student of the Year, Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl, Ghulam, Zakhm and others. The list also includes Priyanka Bose of Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Priyanka Bose is a well known actress and is best known for her characters in Johnny Gaddaar, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Gulaab Gang, Guzaarish, Ascharya Fuck It among others.
Alia Bhatt has shared the clapboard in her social media account that was captioned, “Today is Day 1 of Sadak 2. And that’s my father, now also my director, holding the clap. I begin shoot in a few days and honestly, I’m petrified. I feel like a tiny mouse trying to climb a beautiful, immense, emotional mountain. I hope I make it to the top and if I fall I hope I’m able to get up again. It’s a tough climb but from everything I’ve seen and everything I’ve heard, I know every single step and misstep will be worth it! Here’s to movies, family, dreams and starting out on a brand NEW journey! And what a journey it’s going to be!!!!”
