At present, Disney’s musical fantasy Aladdin from its very first day is in lead over all the Hindi movies that are present at the box office. Aladdin still continues to have a good hold over the audience. The movie received a terrific opening weekend and with the help of positive word of mouth, it has made its way on weekdays. Actors like Mena Massoud, will Smith & Naomi Scott have received a great number of positive reviews. But overall, Aladin seems to be faring “much better” than the Bollywood releases like PM Narendra Modi and India’s Most Wanted. The director of Aladdin is Guy Ritchie who has done films like Snatch, Sherlock Holmes, Two Smoking Barrels and Lock Stock.
The film Aladdin made the business amount of 18.50 crores nett in the weekend followed by 4.25 crores on Friday, 6.50 crores on Saturday and 7.75 crores on Sunday. Though the live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1992 animated film had witnessed a drop on Friday after 4 days it garnered a total box office collection of 21.50 crores nett from Indian screens.
Talking about Hindi release, the thriller drama India’s Most Wanted starring Arjun Kapoor despite receiving positive reviews remained low throughout the weekend. The opening of its first-day collection was about Rs. 2.10 crore. The film witnessed decent growth on Saturday with 3.03 crores and received another escalation of Rs 3.53 crore on Sunday. On the fourth day, it received Rs 1.30 crore which brings to a total box office collection of 9.96 crores nett. Sadly, the film could not make the right impact at the box office. The total budget of India’s Most Wanted was Rs 37 crores.
PM Narendra Modi helmed by Omung Kumar have done films like Mary Kom and Sarabjit. The film traces the life of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The film seems to be picking up a great advantage for its positive election’s results. On the opening day of PM Narendra Modi, it received a fair amount of Rs 2.88 crores which followed by Rs 3.76 crores on Saturday. And finally, the movie witnessed decent growth on Sunday with Rs 5.12 crores. But unfortunately n Monday, the film received a drop again with Rs. 1.80 crores. The movie garnered a total of Rs 13.56 crore if we sum up the 4 days. PM Narendra Modi had a budget of Rs 35 crores.
