Tevar, starring Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor, continued to be low in adding business even on its first Wednesday at the domestic box office. The film made approximately Rs 2.75 crores nett on its sixth day at the ticket windows. Thus, making a total collection of Rs 32 crores at the domestic box office.
Tevar could run better through a good publicity of mouth. However, the film witnessed negative reviews from film critics, and was also not appreciated by the audience.
Tevar’s first week collections would be approximately Rs 35 – 37 crores. The film, a commercial romantic drama, seems to have failed to impress the viewers. Contrary to expectations, it did not perform at its best. However, the producers are having a ball of a time, as it is a low-budget film.
Amit Sharma’s Tevar has been co-produced by Kapoor brothers – Boney and Sanjay. Tevar is a remake of Gunasekhar’s 2003 Telugu flick, Okkadu, which starred Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika Chawla in lead roles. Tevar also features Manoj Bajpai in a pivotal role.
