Sandeep Vanga’s directorial “Kabir Singh” is the Hindi remake of the movie “Arjun Reddy” that featured Deverakonda in the lead role. Since the inception of the movie, it has been the talk of the town as the crowd deliberately wants to know how exactly Shahid Kapoor would perform in the remake. Shahid Kapoor would play the lead role in Kabir Singh as he steps in the shoes of Vijay Deverakonda. The trailer of the movie has initiated a lot of interest as the trailer shows a sneak peak of Sasha’s unconventional avatar with rugged look and fine acting skills and Kiara Advani’s simplicity. The film is slated to release on 21st of June 2019 making the wait longer for the fans.

While everyone out there is pretty much eager to for the film to get release, little did anyone know about the first choice for the lead role for the movie. The fact has been brought to light that the Jab We Met actor was not the first choice for the movie. The first preference of the director was Arjun Kapoor who stepped in the world of Bollywood with his debut film “Ishaqzaade” sharing screen with Chopra sister, Parineeti. However, nothing went in favour of the director. Sandeep Vanga told Mumbai Mirror in this context, “Yeah, but before that Shahid and I were already in talks, so I couldn’t just jump to another actor it’s not about whose acting calibre is greater but about the commitment.” Clearly, destiny had other plans for both the movie and the director.

Sandeep Vanga has opened up to the leading daily about the challenges Shahid Kapoor has faced while filming this movie and said, “The challenge this time was to create a Punjabi boy born and raised in Mumbai, who goes to Delhi to study medicine. It was important to get the colloquial accent and meter right I like the way Arjun Reddy has metamorphosed into Kabir Singh. Also, in South India, those from Telangana are a tad louder in their expression of emotions. Whenever something good happens, it’s time to party. Ditto, the Punjabis.”

On closure of the interview with Mumbai Mirror, the director has revealed an interesting fact about his personal life. He stated that he has named his son Arjun Reddy as he was working on the Telegu movie when his son was born. Arjun Kapoor’s last film got mixed reviews from both the audiences and the critics while the actor will be seen next in “Panipat” sharing screen with Kriti Sanon and “Sandeep Aur inky Faraar” with Parineeti Chopra.
