The past two weeks had not been that good for Bollywood movies as they failed to score in front of the box office. Both of the Bollywood films PM Narendra Modi and India’s Most Wanted could not do much in front of the Hollywood flick Aladdin which is gaining most of the revenue. Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi’s PM Narendra Modi has managed to do quite well but still could not catch up to Aladdin rank. These films have already completed their first two weeks and so now let’s have a look at what they have fared in their second weekend.
In the second weekend, Aladdin had garnered a business of around Rs 10 crore. As per the Box Office record in India, Aladdin had dropped off about 45 percent in the first weekend but the present scenario shows that Aladdin’s total collection has crossed over Rs 40 crore. But the things might change for the collection of Aladdin as Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat will come on the picture which is going to be released on June 5.
PM Narendra Modi had received a low second weekend but somehow it managed to stay above Arjun Kapoor’s starrer India’s Most Wanted. After two weeks, it has been known that the biopic has managed to reach around Rs 20 crore. It might look bad in front of the box office collection of the PM Narendra Modi but it was successful in beating the score of India’s Most Wanted. The opening of the movie had a poor start but it was much better than that of India’s Most Wanted. Vivek Oberoi will be seen essaying the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the film. Vivek Oberoi had earlier talked on the movie by saying, “It’s not a documentary. I am not there to present facts. To me it’s an emotional journey, an inspirational story. You’d feel that someone from a humble background would feel intimidated that may be their education doesn’t match those of global leaders. But here he is outspoken, walking toe to toe and hobnobbing with all these international leaders, being so tech savvy, so forward. Without agendas, without opposition, without critics, without criticism, no story is complete. Any inspirational story is about how you rise above challenges, all these are there in the film.”
Meanwhile, there were some high expectations from Arjun Kapoor starrer India’s Most Wanted but it failed to score at the Box office collection.
Aladdin features Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud which have a great job at the worldwide box office. The Disney flick had made about USD 445.9 million worldwide. According to the suggestion of the International report, if Aladdin continues to win like this, then there is a high possibility that it may touch almost USD 700 million at the global box office.
