Arjun Kapoor starrer action thriller ‘India’s Most Wanted’ has hit the theatres along with Vivek Oberoi starrer ‘PM Narendra Modi’ on the same day that is on 24th of May 2019. Both the films have started off fairly decent but the expectations were not met. India’s Most Wanted has been released in 1500 – 2000 screens. The movie screens Arjun Kapoor who plays the role of an intelligence officer named Prabhat Kumar hunting for one of the most renowned terrorist, Osama bin Laden. The film is pretty loosely based on the conviction of Indian Mujahideen terrorist Yasin Bhatkal who was arrested in the year 2013 after several years of chasing.

Arjun Kapoor had earlier told in context about his complex role, “It comes with a lot of complexities, because I’ll be honest, I have never done it before. You have to rely on a lot of research, then meeting people, making it believable to yourself. Especially this character, because this is an extension of our regular working class people and you have to blend with the crowd.” He also added, “I know they are intelligence officers (but) when you meet them, you realize their specialty is they behave like common men. It is also the mindset. There is a psychological shift that you take. And there is a social skill that they develop to handle all difficult situations. So, it is real, therefore it is complex, and you want to do justice to it,”

As for the first day in the box office, India’s Most Wanted has managed to mint ₹ 2.10 crores. The number has been confirmed by the revelation of Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh who wrote, “#IndiasMostWanted struggles… Records extremely low numbers on Day 1, although biz picked up towards evening… Needs miraculous growth on Day 2 and 3 to salvage the show… Fri ₹ 2.10 cr. India biz.”

Film trade analyst Girish Johar has commented, “India’s Most Wanted is leading the way between the two releases of the week. Rajkumar Gupta is a fantastic director. He has done Aamir, No One Killed Jessica and Raid and all of them have been talked about at the box office. India’s Most Wanted is treading a similar path. It’s an intellectual thriller and an intense drama. The intrigue element is quite good for the film. Arjun Kapoor also has a good fan following, so I expect a decent start for the film at the box office.”

Both the new releases are competing with each other while India’s Most Wanted stands at ₹ 2.10 crore, PM Narendra Modi stands at ₹ 2 crore on their opening day.
