Akshay Kumar’s much awaited movie of the year, The Shaukeens, is all set to hit the cinema-halls this Friday. As the comedy gears up for its 70 MM screen show, here’s the box-office prediction of the film, according to some trade experts…
The Shaukeens is expected to make good business at the box-office. Thanks to wonderful marketing of the film, as well as the powerful star cast – chances are, Abhishek Sharma’s comedy will open to packed cinemas and collect huge moolah. As per some trade experts, the movie is expected to make Rs. 7 to 10 crores on its first day of release.
Since the other release of the week, Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen’s Rang Rasiya, is not seen as a huge competition, The Shaukeens is expected to rule the ticket-windows in its first week. According to early buzz and trends, the film might enter the 100 Crore Club as its lifetime business.
The Shaukeens is the remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 hit of the same name. The original film had three old men in their 50s – Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal – as the centre of the plot. The trio tried to woo a young girl, played by lovely actress, Rati Agnihotri. The remake will have Piyush Mishra, Annu Kapoor and Anupam Kher reprise the parts played by the old men. Akshay Kumar, in an extended special appearance, will be essaying the role of Mithun Chakraborty from the original flick. The Shaukeens releases on 7th November 2014.
