Director Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam is picking up its pace and heading towards more profit by the day! The film’s second weekend showed good signs of growth. It collected Rs. 2.75 crore on Friday, Rs. 4.05 crore on Saturday, and Rs. 5.04 crore on Sunday. It managed a decent score of approximately Rs. 2 crore (actual figures awaited) on its second Monday. The nail-biting thriller’s total box office business comes out to be around Rs. 60 crore.
Thanks to the poor performance of last week’s release, Bangistan, Drishyam managed to make decent money. Bangistan couldn’t impress film viewers and failed miserably at the cash counters, earning Rs. 1 crore on Friday, Rs. 1.30 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.47 crore on Sunday. Its total opening weekend earnings are Rs. 3.77 crore.
Drishyam is expected to grow on film viewers and get better collections at the cash registers in the coming days. Having said that, Akshay Kumar’s Brothers is set to release on 14th August, which might make it a little difficult for Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam to make big money post that. So the film must garner as much business as possible during this week. So far as the film’s reviews are concerned, it has been praised by the film fans and critics alike, and enjoys positive word of mouth publicity.
