One of the best fantasy movies to have generated interest among movie goers is Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away. The flick is a fantasy drama that tells the story of a woman who gets attracted to a circus’s star performer ‘The Aerialist’, and from there, begins a fairytale journey that sees our protagonists traveling through different fantasy worlds in search of each other, only to meet different kinds of strange performers of a fantasy world known as Cirque du Soleil.
The story of the flick is simply captivating from the start. Audiences are left surprised when they find their young aerialist dive towards his death, only to be given refuge by the dreamy world where everything seems like a wonderful dream. When on a visit to the local circus, the heroine gets enamored by the performance of the Aerialist who, by a miss of a few seconds, falls to his death. The woman runs to save him, however, both fall when the ground breaks off and the two are left separated in the fantasy world where everything seems unreal.
The flick stars actors like Erica Linz, Dallas Barnett, John Clarke, Igor Zaripoy, Sophia Elisabeth and Lutz Halbhubner and has been directed brilliantly by Andrew Adamson who has shot the entire flick in 3D that shows every move clearly and immaculately. To see the performers dance, leap and swim together in mid air is simply astounding. The whole aura of the movie is mysterious and many kudos for the brilliant cinematography that has made it possible to bring out an element of ethereal charm to the flick.
The director Andrew Adamson has previously directed classics like Chronicles of Narnia and the initial parts of Shrek-movies that were par excellence and a treat to watch for any. The woman’s role has been played by Erica Linz and Igor Zaripov plays the Aerialist.
Once, the journey starts, the movie introduces many colorful characters smoothly. Some of these include: clowns, acrobats and sea creatures, all beautifully shown. The movie is a delight to watch since old timers can relive their ‘Beatles Era’ as there are many songs that remind you of the golden days of the Beatles Band.
The movie takes the viewers across varied landscapes, all distinct and beautifully conjured as an artist would do in his imagination. To see the movie is like being in some kind of a living breathing dream. The flick has been rated PG since there are certain scenes that need a little parental guidance, though, none of the scenes show explicit sexual content.
For those that find musicals a little boring, watching Cirque du Soleil is a waste of time. Most viewers may fall asleep with endless cacophony of songs and dreamy sequences. However, some may find the costumes and music simply irresistible and charming.
For those that are new to live performances, it is to be noted that this flick has taken inspiration from the actual Cirque du Soleil shows that are organized with pomp and grandeur at Las Vegas and are astonishingly beautiful. James Cameron has co produced the flick and hence, that gives you more reason why you should watch this flick today.
If watching live action is your kind of thing, it is recommended that you watch this beautiful movie today. For others that love action and adventure, the movie can be ditched for a later watch.
