Wasn’t it just thrilling to watch the news that informed the world about the death of the most hated terrorist in the world? What if you could see the entire manhunt that actually went on, of course, with the patience and courage of the US Military forces that captured and killed Osama Bin Laden? Watching Zero Dark Thirty is absolutely the correct choice if you are someone who wishes to see how the entire thing was planned and carried out.
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, the flick is simply astounding and keeps the audience grounded and hooked on for the complete 2 hours and 37 minutes. The movie is quite realistic in its portrayal of the decade long preparations by the intelligence and military forces to eradicate Laden; the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks that shocked the world and devastated many lives. The movie has been produced by Columbia Pictures and is equally mind blowing like its predecessor Hurt Locker, which was directed and written by the same pair and won many accolades.
It is a brilliantly directed masterpiece of a movie and has succeeded in keeping all the details that actually were associated with the entire episode. Zero Dark Thirty also portrays how women work fiercely alongside their male counterparts, no matter how difficult the situation is or what extra qualities are required to be possessed by them to gain respect of their fellow companions who are focused on the one common goal.
The 2 hours and some minutes posed no hindrance to presenting the detailed facts of the entire manhunt and showed very authentic drama and action that took place during all that time. Viewers might get disturbed by the hard core action scenes that take place during the manhunt, however, to see the urgency of these nearly exhausted men that have put their lives on hold for so long is thrilling so much so that it tends to prickle your senses and give you goose bumps all over your body!
There are many interesting facts associated with this awesome movie that one must read through. To begin with, the flick was originally written to show the debacle of the US Military and intelligence to hunt down Laden, however, it was only after his famous hunt and subsequent killing that changed the very ethos of the film. For those that are unfamiliar with the terms and lingo of the Army should find it interesting that the actual pronunciation of the flick is not Zero but Oh Dark Thirty!
According to some actual facts, the entire manhunt that showed Osama being raided and ultimately killed took exactly twenty five minutes and this is well projected on screen! Uncanny, isn’t it?
Zero Dark Thirty is not a historical flick, nor does it show the heroism of the Armed forces. It simply shows the dark side of war and terror. Watch it, for it will clear your doubts about what went on during the last moments in the life of the infamous personality that changed the face of humankind forever.
