Review Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
Rating: 4/5 Stars (Four Stars)

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is an above average movie with the same old story of friends falling in love, getting hurt, failed ventures and yes getting back together and falling in love again. Movie has some laughable moments and in most of the places movie is directed beautifully.  With its super hit star cast and equally brilliant team of Director and producers, I was expecting something classic. Movie lacks a very good story and script is filled with old story of friends, which we have seen hundreds of times in the past. But still I will not call Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani a failure. It has its moments. You will definitely not get disappointed if you love to watch a simple, funny yet emotional drama. First half of the movie is about friends having fun on a trip to Manali. Second half is all about get together, an Indian marriage falling in love and facing some hard facts of life.

Bunny(Ranbir Kapoor), a photographer along with his friends Avi(Aditya Roy Kapur  of Ashiqui 2 fame) and Aditi(Kalki Koechlin) is on his way for a tracking trip to manali. They meet Naina(Deepika Padukone), a medical student on the train, who turns out to be their old classmate from school.  A good number of girls also join them in their fun trip. While having fun and getting to know each other better, Naina falls in love with Bunny. She is about to confess her feelings to Bunny, when they come to know that Bunny  got the admission in a high profiled American University. Its Bunny’s dream to roam around the world and spend his life traveling different countries. From there, they all go to different paths of their lives. After six years, Bunny is at his last day shooting for Fox Traveler, when he received the job offer of his life. Same time he gets an invitation to join Aditi’s marriage. At Aditi’s  marriage, he gets to meet the old gang. Everyone is mad at Bunny for not returning the calls or not taking an interest in his friend’s lives. Now starts the drama of falling in love and facing some life’s hard facts.

Movie’s script is a bit weak, but when it comes to execution; Director Ayan Mukerji has not left any stone unturned. Ranbir Kapoor has done his role perfectly as bunny, a flirt yet a funny guy who is good at heart. Aditya Roy Kapur is an impressive co-star and total drunk throughout the movie, he seems to be started from where he left in his last movie Ashiqui 2. Deepika Padukone has done her role brilliantly; she gets another super hot role to her credit. Kalki Koechlin was good and had some chilling and emotional moments to show her acting skills. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani  has some brilliant songs and easy on ear music from Pritam. Overall it’s a very beautiful movie which could be much better if only it had a better script or a bit strong storyline. If nothing else, Yeh jawani Hai Deewani is very good time pass.
