Yesterday, we informed you how bluntly Jaya Bachchan talked about son Abhishek Bachchan’s latest release, Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
At a recently concluded literature festival in Mumbai, Jaya stunned one and all with what she thought about Farah Khan’s film. Without mincing her words even a bit, the senior actress said, “Happy New Year is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I said that to the film’s lead actor as well. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor and if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that, I can’t be part of what is being done in films these days and hence I don’t do films anymore.”
Jaya’s statement became viral in no time. The harsh remarks, obviously, didn’t go down well with many. Reportedly, SRK too is very hurt and offended with what Jaya said on a public platform.
In a chase to make-up for it, Amitabh Bachchan sent a text message to Khan, apologising on his wife’s behalf. He tried to clarify in the message that Jaya’s intentions were not to insult him or the film.
Abhishek and Aishwarya also made an effort and went to Mannat to apologise to Shah Rukh. Reportedly, while Gauri gave them a warm welcome, SRK refused to meet them.
