This Friday saw the release of three films at the Indian Box Office including Ankur Arora Murder Case. The film is Bhatt camp venture based on true events where a young boy dies due to medical negligence. The film had an excellent storyline and the potential of becoming a hit film. But unfortunately the film is a disappointment. Director Suhail Tatari failed to recreate Vikram Bhatt’s script on screen. The sensitive issue has been handled carelessly. What could have been a thrilling tale of medical negligence and distraught family and a young intern’s stance for truth, turned out to be dud.
The film could still have been saved by the grace of brilliant actors like Kay Kay Menon and Tisca Chopra. But all that Kay Kay does is scream on top of his voice in the film, and Chopra is left unexploited; in the role of a bereaved mother, she could have done wonders in the role. The film being released with two other movies didn’t help its case either, especially with Superman hitting the theaters after seven years in Man of Steel. Also the already running blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Yamla PAgla Deewana 2(which did a moderate business) didn’t help either.
On its first day Ankur Arora Murder Case (AAMC) collected a lowly amount of 2.1 Crores approx. Looking at its current performance at the box office and the audience reaction, it’s a given that the film will fizzle out soon.
