Total lack of appreciation has resulted in the dismal showing of ‘Bullett Raja’ at the box-office. Much was expected from this Saif Ali Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer, helmed by Tigmanshu Dhulia but the film just couldn’t impress the audiences and this trend was evident all over the nation. The film managed to collect approx Rs. 22.40 Crores (Domestic) in its first weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) which was poor, considering that the film is an A-grade set-up in terms of cast and crew. It seems that director Tigmanshu Dhulia tried to raise the commercial ante in this one, hoping that this would increase the box-office revenue but sadly, this move has back-fired. This is a big setback even for Sonakshi Sinha, because post ‘Lootera’ and ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara’, she was expecting to end her flop-spree but did not happen either. Also, type-casting seems to have come into the picture in her case. That’s a pity because inspite of being versatile, she just doesn’t seem to be getting requisite scope to display her talent.
It now remains to be seen, how the film performs during the weekdays because if an upward swing in terms of theatrical revenue is not noticed, it would only confirm the fact that ‘Bullett Raja’ has failed to hit the bull’s eye!
