For Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year, its second week has been really good. After showing good numbers throughout the week, the musical heist drama now stands at about Rs. 193.2 crores at the domestic box-office. Farah Khan’s project is fast inching towards the coveted 200 Crore Club now.
The film, which opened to huge numbers and made 100 crores within the first three days of its release, slowed down its pace at the ticket-windows during the beginning of its second week. But the film has caught up its speed yet again, and is setting the cash registers ringing at present.
After gathering about Rs. 3.4 crores on its second Tuesday, Happy New Year made approximately Rs. 3.1 crores on the second Wednesday of its release. The film’s total box-office business till its 13th day was about Rs. 190.2 crores.
Helmed by Farah Khan, Happy New Year also stars Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in principal roles. The film released during Diwali and rocked the domestic box-office!
Happy New Year set a record of the highest opening day business of approximately Rs 45 crores in the domestic circuits. Currently, the film is the second highest grosser of the year.
