Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year is, indeed, breaking many worldwide records. The film added more moolah in its pot over the fourth Monday and Tuesday. The film collected approximately Rs 20 lacs over the two days. It now stands with a total collection of nearly Rs 203 crores at Box Office India.
This is Shah Rukh’s second film to join the 200 crores club after Chennai Express. The film has now surpassed the lifetime domestic collection of Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, which had made a collection of Rs 202 crores at the domestic box-office.
Happy New Year is now considered as the fifth highest grosser of all time, after Dhoom 3, Chennai Express, Kick and Krrish 3 at the domestic box-office.
However, the film has now beaten the worldwide collections of Krrish 3 and Kick, but Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film has been quite lower when it comes to the domestic collections of both Kick and Krrish 3.
The film is helmed by Farah Khan, and also stars Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in principal roles.
