John Abraham and Sircar’s Madras Café had a slow start on Friday but after really good reviews and word of mouth movie picked up in the evening and collected a 4.75 Crores(Approx). Madras Café is based on real life incidents happened around 1994. Sri lanka’s LTTE ,Indian Prime Minister Mr Rajeev Gandhi’s assassination and India’s role in Sri Lanka’s civil war is portrayed with such realism and emotions that Indian Film Industry will remember and learn from this masterpiece in coming years.
Year 2013 is being the year of really good movies, one after another hit and arty masterpiece is coming to Indian Box Office. This year love stories and light comedies are being loved by the audience. Madras Café may change the taste and mood of the audience and create some new trends for the industry, which will motivate producers to invest in real and challenging projects. Madras Café has a long way to go, to be able to set a benchmark because its investment is pretty high in comparison to other movies in the same genre. It has already done good enough for Shoojit Sircar in terms of recognition and creating a brand name that even if it doesn’t do the expected at box-office, it would be an good investment for john & Sircar.
