It’s very rare to see a previous week’s release giving stiff competition to the newer releases, but that’s the case with ‘Ram-Leela’! Trade pundits are unanimous in coming to a conclusion that the first day collections of the Imran Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!’ directed by Punit Malhotra for producer Karan Johar, as well as the first day collections of the other release this week, ‘Singh Saab The Great’, the latest Sunny Deol- Anil Sharma action-packed offering, have been affected due to the rock-steady box-office performance of ‘Ram-Leela’ which is sustaining quite well even in its second week. This ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela’ managed to collect Rs. 4 Crores to Rs. 4.25 crores (Domestic) on its second Friday, which is highly creditable. Thus, the film has amassed approx 85 crores in its first eight days, which is extremely good, considering the fact that ‘Singh Saab The Great’ and ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!’ are ventures from well-known, saleable names, both behind and in front of the camera!
The audiences definitely want something new every Friday but at the same time, cinegoers do not forget a good film that released last week, for example, ‘Ram-Leela’. At the moment, the celebration continues for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh and last but not the least, Deepika Padukone!
