Not every actor in Bollywood industry has a smooth ride in their acting career. The same goes for Kunal Kemmu who often seen at the struggling point in his acting career.
The actor started his acting career as a child artiste in 1990s with films like “Hum Hain rahi Pyar ke”, “Zakhm”, “Raja Hindustani” and “Dushman”. Kunal shares that every two years he feels like a newcomer for the kind of responses he receives. The actor’s turning point in the Bollywood industry is his 2015 debut film Kalyug where he plays the lead role. Both of his films Kalyug and Traffic Signal were high content films.
Ups and Downs in Kunal’s Career
Kunal Kemmu seems jumping constantly through the genres in order to reinvent himself. Kunal Kemmu says that from one perspective his career may seem struggling. But Sometimes movies work and sometimes they don’t. He further says when your phone doesn’t ring then it makes you wonder that what wrong you might have done. The success and failure in his 15-year long career made the actor optimist. He talks about his unsettled journey by saying, “It has been a journey of ups and downs. There have been moments of immense joy and heartbreaks. Everything I have gone through has made me better.”
Kunal Aces the role of Abdul
Kunal is appearing in the latest multi starrer film which features stars like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur. Kunal Kemmu who played the role of Abdul had stolen the thunder as an antagonist. Kunal feels more than overwhelmed by the praises he is getting for the role Abdul and he gives the full credit to Karan Johar for trusting him and having faith in him. Kunal talks about Karan with saying that he saw something in him which he could not himself. “I thought this guy is trusting me with something that I’ve not done. He believed in me and I went ahead with it. I played the part to the best of my ability.” Though the role of Abdul is small but it was a very important role in the film. About his character Abdul, Kunal commented, that he got hooked to the complexity and the simplicity of the character. He adds that he wanted to do an intense role like Abdul who in every scene acts like a different person. Though the story revolved around the lead characters but Kunal seemed happy for being a part in the film.
He will also be seen soon in the upcoming film project ‘Malang’ where he will reunite with his Kalyug director Mohit Suri and he will also appear in the sequel of Go Goa Gone.
