While his last few flicks – Ghanchakkar, Raja Natwarlal and Ungli – tanked at the box office, Bollywood hunk Emraan Hashmi badly needs a hit to remain in the race. Will his latest release, Mr. X, be that savior for the actor? Or will this one also show a bad report card eventually? Only time will tell. For now, we can only watch out and estimate whether or not the film will be a success.
Vikram Bhatt’s sci-fi thriller saw major fluctuations in its collections on its opening day. Though it began on a dull note, Mr. X picked up later in the day and clocked in a decent score of in Rs. 4.50 crore at Box Office India.
With a good show on the first day of its release, the film, also in 3D, is expected to gather about Rs. 15 crore over its opening weekend. Unlike most of Hashmi and Bhatts’ projects, this one doesn’t have a soulful soundtrack to pull audience to the cinema halls. However, a strong word of mouth publicity might work wonders for the film.
The movie stars Amyra Dastur as Emraan’s leading lady. Also featuring Arunoday Singh, Mr. X has been produced by Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt.
