Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Crossed 200 Crore Mark - 3rd Weekend Collections: Box Office India

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani doesn’t show any sign of slowing down at the box office. The film has already broken and set a number of box office records and is on its way to break more. The Ranbir Deepika starrer film is the first non-Khan film to have reached such heights. The film is currently holding third position in the list of most successful films of all time. The highest grosser at the box office is lead by 3 Idiots, followed by Ek Tha Tiger, with a worldwide collection of well over 300crore. Interestingly, both the films have two of the Khans as the protagonist, Amir in 3 Idiots and Salman in Ek Tha Tiger. Ranbir Kapoor has broken the trend with his latest film YJHD and claimed his long lost legacy of Kapoors, set by his ancestors like Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor.

YJHD is currently in its third week and its third weekend box office reports are still as phenomenal as the first week, despite of a number of bumps. This weekend saw the release of a huge Hollywood film, Man Of Steel. This Superman movie has released after 7 years since its last production, Superman Returns. The film saw the youth of this country crowding the screens, especially in the multiplexes. But YJHD’s viewers were undeterred by this new film. YJHD shows were houseful despite of the new films and new monsoon heavy rains. On Friday, the film picked up 3.65  Crore at the box office. Saturday saw a jump of 25% with a collection of 3.75 Crore, followed by 5.5 Crore on Sunday. The film is doing equally good at the overseas market. The rate at which YJHD is going, it won’t be a surprise if it breaks a few more records in the weeks to come and claim the 2nd and who knows, the first position as the highest grosser of all time!
